Never forget the time when he fired that mortar into
the oggin against that incoming torpedo - that nobody [except us]
believed existed - Rowdy Yates
I seem to remember another nickname, after we'd
mopped up more than 1, 45 gallon drum of Lube Oil, from the after
heads and the Seacat Magazine.. The nickname..... Lube Oil Lu. Good
Man
Dusty Miller

was on Edinburgh with Louis on his last foreign.
He bought £3k worth of hi fi in Singapore for
delivery and we all told him he’d lost it.
He hadn’t it…… turned up a day late. He saw good in
everyone, except himself I think.
Penang ………and as he pulled on the parascender to
bring it to the beach he rose and the chute stayed straight.
From a new tiffy meeting the “Rosyth Mortar King”
to becoming a messmate – good memories
