This page is Dedicated to the Memory of:

Keith Wozencroft OA

Died on Exercises off Gibraltar

21st February 1964

Aged 29

I remember Keith very well a real gent I was FC2 on board also the ships butcher, Keith often stood outside my little den on the starboard side upper deck chatting to me ,I was like all the crew deeply shocked by his accident, may he rest in peace.

Doug Harris

I was drafted to the 'Y' in lieu of Keith, and a very sobering thought it was too. Although I was then employed in the Fly 5 TS, once onboard, I used to tune the 4.5" turret, and ran up against some of the troubles that Keith was involved in.Apparantly the main cause for his accident was, that, some electrical cables had become chafed and when the turret was moving, the cables would short and cause intermittent problems. Poor Keith was under the guns, when the tuuret ran away in elevation, and resulted in the horrific accident.May he rest in peace.

"Tiger" Timpson

Keith was my boss on Yarmouth, I worked with him every day on that 4-5, and will never forget that awful fateful day, the only reason I wasn`t under that gun as well, was because Keith sent me to help store ship. He was a great guy and a great boss, a great loss.
