As I recall it Dusty was looking for someone else to take over the site as he was "retiring" from being webmaster and Ray obligingly took over with Dustys blessing!

In my opinion Ray has done a sterling job at both running the jacks corner site as webmaster and in organising very enjoyable and successful reunions for all.

For that he has my sincere thanks and my ongoing full support.

If John, or anyone else for that matter, wishes to run an alternative site and organise alternative reunions then so be it, their choice, it's a free world we live in.

I served a loan draft on Y during 1979 before she went into refit - Rosyth. I was attached to the flight during my time, even though I was a baby RP! Enjoying the site and love to hear from LS(R)Ginge Gorringe if he's out there?

HMS Yarmouth 50th Birthday Celebrations in 2010 ...
All crew members will have received the emails with links to the ‘When & Where’ page and ‘Preference’ voting page for the BIG 50. Celebrations so far the favourite’s are Friday the 26th March 2010 at Portsmouth that is just 7 months away, so we need to make a decision sharpish to get the arrangement made.

If you can’t make it to this one, the next one is in Ibiza as we’ve been offered excellent rates.

Ray
I wasn't halucinating, it seems John Bryant on an alternative Yarmouth site is organising about 3 do's one in Torquay this year and a couple next year in Blackpool and somewhere else, I got to it by googling Yarmouth reunions.

Ray,
What can I say, I certainly re-iterate what Dickie has said, Mrs Trixie, Angela, Malcolm and me certainly had a weekend we won't forget. My liver won't forget either, it is telling me to go on the waggon until at least Chrimbo. Can't wait for the fiftieth anniversary for the Yarmouth I am sure I have read somewhere, but I can't remember where, someone is organising a fiftieth, but if I am halucinating, I don't mind where it is held, the obvious places are Yarmouth, Pompey, Guzz or Rosyth, but I don't mind if we go back to Bristol or indeed go further afield to GIB.
Keep in touch and if there is anything I can do just let me know.
Regards to all fellow shipmates of Yarmouth and Danae.
Yours Aye
John 'Trixie'Treece

Many many thanks to Ray for organising such a great weekend in "Brissol" - I had a really good run ashore on Friday night with the combined crews after an excellent DTS with Ray, Dizzy, Paul, Tommo, Colin, Sooty and others in the afternoon!!
Unfortuneatley (due to blocked drains and backing up toilets at "Teuchterhouse")I had to double off home on Saturday so missed the Saturday night bash - but still really enjoyed the time I did have on the piss with the lads!!!!

Ray,
Just to say a massive thanks to you for all your hard work and efforts in putting together a wonderful evening and joining together of two Ships companies. Both my wife Michelle and I had a tremendous time at Flying Fox and my only regret is not getting on the mic to put out a BZ to you during the evening so apologies for that. I will make it up to you next time. A couple of points worthy of mention on Daily Orders:
1.Food was of the highest order. I had to go round again a couple of times...
2.Bar Staff were wonderful, polite, pleasant and extremely courteous (Bar prices fantastic...)
3.Venue was very well dressed up and no doubt took a lot of organising inc Perry buoys that looked great side by side.
4.Your organisation efforts (inc Mrs Lester) overall including: raffle, money return, venue, DJ, Danae T'shirts etc... great stuff.
I can't praise you enough for what you did for us all and I say that on behalf of all present on the night, those that failed to show or did not bother is their loss and an opportunity missed is one lost forever.
I hope you managed to relax on the night and enjoy your hard work and toil from a long time organising and arranging. Thanks again mate and I will look forward to our next gathering at a time, date and venue to be decided. I intend to have a sneaky look at a possible gathering in Gib 2010/11...???
Warm regards to you and Mrs L and I look forward to seeing you in the not too distant future. Bravo Zulu...
Yours Aye,
Dicky

Johnno, many thanks for info, I was comms (LRO(T) /L.Sig. Will follow up story. I believe Yarmouth was involved in collission in 1962,(So I heard, but cannot say if it is true or not
Smudge

A/B John Homan Kent:
Yes you are right the 101 was in a collision in 62 but I had gone by then.
Capt Henry's middle name was Raynardson" he passed away 20th Aug 2007 in Brockenhurst Hants ...aged 91
some old messmate wrote and told me . He had wartime service ..so had a good run.
all the best ...Jonno Aitch*
